Moniteau girls fall in District 9-3A title game, 64-58
Moniteau rallied from a double-digit deficit in the first half and erupted for 24 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime, only to fall to Brookville, 64-58, in the District 9 Class 3A girls basketball championship game at Clarion University Friday night.
“We were pretty resilient to come back,” said Moniteau coach Dee Arblaster. “We played hard and never gave up and I'm happy with that.”
Both teams had very balanced scoring. Haley Pry scored 16 to lead the Warriors (11-12), Abby Rottman added 15 and Kristin Auvil 14.
The Raiders (12-11) had four players reach double figures, including Morgan and Madison Johnson, who combined for 29 points.
