Former store being cleaned up; Taco Bell still on way
Inquisitive residents may have noticed the dumpster outside the former Friedman's Freshmarkets.
According to Ben Roth, a spokesman for Greater Butler Mart in Butler Township, the activity is indicative of the interest in the location.
He said there were a lot of boxes left by the former tenant.
“We worked to clean out that space,” Roth said. “It's getting them cleaned up and making sure they look good.”
Roth said there are multiple parties interested in the former grocery store.
Roth also addressed a rumor about the deal with Taco Bell for a restaurant at the site of the former Country Town gas station, which was demolished in October.
“Taco Bell is still 100 percent moving forward,” Roth said. “There is nothing to be concerned about.”
Roth said Taco Bell is still waiting for DEP approval on its plans to build a new prototype building, featuring an ultra-modern design.
“The state takes its time to do these approvals,” Roth said.
