[naviga:h3]BLT to stage ‘Inspector Calls’[/naviga:h3]

Butler Little Theatre’s next play will be the drama “An Inspector Calls” March 13 to 15 and 17 to 21.

Curtain is at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

“An Inspector Calls” is a play set in an English manufacturing town in 1912.

The Birling family has convened to celebrate the engagement of their daughter, Sheila Birling, to her boyfriend, Gerald Croft. Then Inspector Goole arrives to begin an inquiry.

The cast includes Stefan Lingenfelter, Denise Johnston, Nedra Casey, Bob Meals, Max Medford, Sarah Altomari and Casey Bowser.

The producers are Stephanie Barret Kobil and Sis Fleming. The director is Dennis Casey.

[naviga:h3]Symphony has dance benefit [/naviga:h3]

The Butler County Symphony Association will once again hold its fundraiser, Dance with the Butler County Celebrities.

On May 2 at the Butler Days Inn, eight Butler County celebrities will be paired up with dance instructors, who will have practiced a dance routine in advance and will present it for the audience. The dance teams will be competing for the judges’ award and a people’s choice award.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. and the competition beginning at 7:30 p.m.

All proceeds benefit the Butler County Symphony Orchestra and its educational outreach.

The celebrities include Jana Panther, director of marketing, public relations and The BHS Foundation at Butler Health System; Debbie Crum, director of outreach at the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau; Heidi Nicholls-Bowser, director of membership and healthy living at Butler YMCA; Phil Ball, board member at Butler Little Theatre; Jeff Double, owner of All About Reclaimed; Jordan Grady, executive director at Butler County Chamber of Commerce; Tyler Friel, news director at Butler Radio Network; and Ron Carter, president and executive director at The Strand Theater Initiative.
