The Performing Arts Series at BC3 promises a “brasstacular” evening of music Feb. 28 with the River City Brass Band Octet performing at 8 p.m. in Succop Theater.
Tickets are $20 for reserved seating, $18 for senior citizens age 65 and older, and $10 for students.

SRU’s Martha Gault Art Gallery hosts the exhibit “A Sin of Omission” in honor of Black History Month in February. The work of professor Pierre Bowins presents the Black American diaspora missing in the history of graphic design.
The exhibition is on display through Feb. 27.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Admission is free.

The art exhibit “The Sound of Thinking” runs Monday through March 20 in the Gallery of Pew Fine Arts Center on the campus.
Yixuan Pan, an artist from China who teaches at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, creates artwork based on ideas of language. Pan’s exhibition will feature sound, video and text.
Admission is free, and the gallery is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays. There will be a reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. March 11.
