Livingston 9th for Freeport

Freeport’s Mark Livingston placed ninth in the WPIBL boys singles championships Wednesday at Sims Lanes.

Livingston rolled a 610 series with a high game of 227.

Other Butler County bowlers placing among the top 50 in the 113-bowler field were Butler’s Chris Huff (19th) with a 202-571, Freeport’s Issaic Spencer (20th) with a 207-569, Seneca Valley’s Ryan Thoma (27th) with a 207-553, Butler’s Rocco Rice (43rd) with a 190-531 and Blaine Hooks (45th) with a 185-525.

CJ Turek of Norwin won the WPIBL singles title by defeating Vincent Cocca of Plum, 279-179, in the championship match.

The Western Regional singles are slated for March 6 at North Versailles. County bowlers qualifying include Livingston, Thoma, Huff, Spencer, Rice and Seneca Valley’s Jason Hartenstein.

The WPIBL’s girls singles championship take place Thursday at Princess Lanes in the South Hills.
