[naviga:h3]Art center has black tie party[/naviga:h3]

The Butler Art Center will host a Black Tie Fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 27.

The evening will include dinner, drinks, live music and casino games.

All proceeds benefit the children’s scholarship fund to provide children in the community unlimited access to the arts.

Tickets for the black tie event are $100 in advance or $125 at the door.

[naviga:h3]SRU hosts gallery exhibit[/naviga:h3]

The Martha Gault Art Gallery at Slippery Rock University hosts the exhibit “A Sin of Omission” in honor of Black History Month in February.

The work of professor Pierre Bowins presents the Black American diaspora missing in the history of graphic design.

The exhibition is on view through Feb. 27 in the Martha Gault Art Gallery, which is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Admission is free.

[naviga:h3]Audubon trip planned[/naviga:h3]

An Owl Prowl and Woodcock Watch, hosted by the Bartramian Audubon Society, will begin at 7 p.m. March 28 at Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township.

After a brief indoor presentation, the group will venture out onto the prairie area trails in hopes of hearing owls and seeing the male woodcocks demonstrating their courtship display.

Admission is free, and no pre-registration is required.
