Knoch girls still perfect in section

Knoch remained unbeaten in section play Monday night with a 61-35 home girls basketball win over Burrell.

Lauren Cihonski led three Knights in double figures with 15 points. Knoch (8-3, 5-0) scored 21 points in the first quarter and raced to a 32-16 lead by halftime.

Macklin Hanley led the Golden Tornado with 13 points, including three treys.

North Catholic 75, Greensburg-Salem 29 — Cassie Foster scored 19 points and Tess Myers 17 for the Trojanettes (8-1), who scored 47 points in the first half. Abby Mankins netted 11 for Greensburg-Salem.

Freeport 59, Apollo-Ridge 26 — The Yellowjackets shot out to a 36-7 lead by halftime. Sidney Shemanski scored 16 points and Melaina Dezort added 14.

Morgan Gamble scored nine for Apollo-Ridge.

A-C Valley 49, Union 47 — Four Falcons scored in double figures and Rachel Cullen scored four of her 10 points in overtime as A-C Valley nipped its rival.

Mia Sherman and Baylee Blauser scored 12 points each for A-C Valley. Dominika Logue netted 20 for Union.
