FREEPORT — Freeport High School bowlers Mark Livingston and Julia Cummings are among the WPIBL leaders in average so far this season.

Livingston's average of 225.17 is third among boys in the league. Cummings' average of 194.83 is fifth among girls in the circuit.

County families get Meadows awards

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Steve, Virginia and Kathy Schoeffel of Evans City, along with Bill and Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock are among The Meadows harness racing top performers of the year.

The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) determine the awards.

Steve Schoeffel trained Stickler Hanover — owned by Virginia and Kathy Schoeffel — which was named 2-year-old Colt/Gelding Trotter of the Year.

Trainer Bill Bercury and owner Renee Bercury will accept the award for Touchamatic as Older Mare Pacer of the Year.
