11:47 p.m. Tuesday — Alex P. Bauer, 22, of Summit Township was arrested after he allegedly punched a woman in the back of the head during a domestic dispute at her Greenview Gardens apartment. The victim suffered minor injuries, police said.

Bauer was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond.

3:30 a.m. Dec. 14 — Cynthia A. McCallister, 38, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly gave a bogus name to police investigating a reported domestic dispute at an apartment on the 200 block of North Main Street. She was arraigned on a charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities.

Police noted that they also learned during the investigation that McCallister was wanted by state parole authorities.

6:26 p.m. Tuesday — All three drivers were injured in a chain-reaction crash on Route 68 at Stirling Drive. The accident occurred when a pickup truck driven by Larry Quickle Jr., 52, of Butler rear-ended a sport utility vehicle, pushing it into a car.David Reed, 69, of Butler was driving the SUV and Janine Majcan, 39, of Cranberry Township was driving the car. The drivers all sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.The wreck closed the westbound lane for an unspecified period of time. All three vehicles had to be towed.Dec. 5 — Joyce I. Lamison, 76, of Butler Township was charged with criminal mischief for allegedly causing $1,519 in damage to a neighbor's car earlier this summer at the Litman Grove parking lot. Police said she scratched the vehicle with a rock Aug. 9.

Monday — Police said they are investigating a case of identify theft that determined a female victim in Bruin had about $2,000 fraudulently withdrawn from her checking account. The victim reported the suspected case of identify theft Dec. 11.1:18 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Marriah P. Monteleone, 27, of Saxonburg traveled off Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township and struck another SUV that was stopped in a driveway. Mark Rodgers, 32, of Chicora was the other driver.Police reported no injuries in the crash. Monteleone was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.6:15 a.m. Sunday — A 41-year-old Prospect man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at McConnell Drive and Whipporwill Road in Franklin Township. Troopers found him after a welfare check call for a man passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle on the road. Police did not release the man's name.8:41 p.m. Dec. 12 — Denise V. Modesta, 41, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her SUV struck a pickup truck that was stopped on Route 8 at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. Anthony P. Ross, 57, of Butler was the other driver.A police report indicated that it was unclear if either Ross or his passenger, Donna M. Ross, 56, of Butler, was injured.Dec. 12 — Jerald G. Carben, 55, of Summit Township was charged with being more than three times the legal limit for alcohol earlier this month following a call for a vehicle stopped in the travel lanes of Route 422 east near Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.Police said Carben was found around 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and he was subsequently taken for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.263 percent, according to court documents. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated. He is charged with DUI.Dec. 12 — Police charged Braxton L. Hilderbrand, 20, of Fenelton with drugged driving stemming from a speeding stop last month in Center Township. A trooper's hand-held radar device clocked him going 55 mph in a 35 mph zone on Mercer Road just south of Blossom Drive.Hilderbrand, after being pulled over shortly after 8:40 p.m. Nov. 17, admitted he had recently smoked marijuana, according to court documents. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had multiple drugs in his system, including marijuana and sertraline.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, speeding, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and operating a vehicle with improper sunscreening.5:45 p.m. Dec. 11 — No one was injured when Anthony E. Hendricks, 38, of Evans City lost control of his pickup on ice and slid into the oncoming lane, hitting a sport utility vehicle on Mahood Road just east of Shroyer Mill Road in Clay Township. Robert E. Riddle, 68, of West Sunbury was the other driver.5:37 p.m. Dec. 11 — An SUV driven by Jennifer Kremin, 44, of Butler struck the back of a car on Unionville Road just west of Route 8 in Center Township. Edward L. Baxa, 62, of Butler was the other driver. No one was injured.Dec. 11 — Alexa L. Spangler, 18, of Cranberry Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. She was pulled over around 12:50 a.m. on the 400 block of West Jefferson Street.A search of the car, according to court documents, turned up a suspected drug-smoking pipe that Spangler admitted was hers. Spangler's passenger, Darian M. Pedrotty, 19, of Pittsburgh, was allegedly found with a Mason jar containing about 74 grams of suspected marijuana.Spangler was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed she had marijuana in her system. She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and a stop sign violation.Pedrotty is charged with possession of a controlled substance and underage drinking.5:46 p.m. Dec. 7 — An SUV driven by Steven Zavacky, 55, of Canonsburg, Washington County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 south just north of Tollgate Road in Jackson Township. Police said the SUV carried the deer about 300 feet until it dislodged from the vehicle.

6:43 p.m. Dec. 6 — A car driven by Raymond J. Powell, 63, of Cabot rear-ended a pickup truck on Route 28 south just west of Alpha Drive in O'Hara Township, Allegheny County. Eric T. Pascucci, 47, of Freeport was the other driver. No injuries were reported.

4:24 p.m. Dec. 5 — Zachary S. Deal, 28, of Slippery Rock lost control of his pickup truck and struck a ditch and tree along Route 58 in Delaware Township. He was not injured, but his truck sustained heavy damage and had to be towed. Police cited Deal for disregarding traffic lanes and not wearing a seat belt.
