11:20 p.m. Dec. 9 — A Cambria County man allegedly broke a woman's jaw during an assault at an apartment on the 400 block of Brown Avenue. The victim told police that Abdul Kirk, 25, of Johnstown punched her in the face, breaking her jaw in two places, according to court documents.

The woman said the incident stemmed from a fight between her sister and Kirk. The victim told police that when she tried to break up the fight, documents said, she was punched. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Kirk is charged with simple assault.

12:32 p.m. Monday — A black cellphone was found on McCandless Avenue near New Castle Road. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-285-9600.2:59 a.m. Sunday — Three Ellwood City residents were arrested on various warrants following a traffic stop at Butler Commons. During the investigation, police said they found drugs and other contraband.Charged with possession of drug paraphernalia are Logan Sager, 27; Amber L. Perrine, 24; and Anthony L. Cirelli, 30. Sager and Perrine also are charged with possession of methamphetamine.Additionally, Sager is charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without a license, and Perrine is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and permitting an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle.11:20 p.m. Dec. 11 — Police arrested a Missouri man after they said they had to Taser him following a call for a fight at the Days Inn on Route 8 south. Joseph M. Sheehy, 24, of Kansas City was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.A hotel security officer initially called police about a fight between two men. One of the men told police that it wasn’t a fight, just a friendly argument. The other man, later identified as Sheehy, walked away and would not talk to police, according to court documents.An officer eventually grabbed hold of the defendant’s right arm on a stairwell. But the suspect kept resisting, police said, and pulled away. Subsequently, the office deployed his Taser, and then Sheehy was arrested. Still, documents said, the defendant kicked at the officer. No injuries were reported.
