Furious Butler rally not enough in loss

Golden Tornado fall to Shaler, 53-46;Beighley scores 27 for KC boys

Butler rallied from down 38-23 in the second half to take a lead, but Shaler pulled ahead again and hung on to hand the Golden Tornado girls basketball team a 53-46 road loss Tuesday night.

Butler (3-2, 1-1) used a 16-0 run in the third quarter to pull ahead by one thanks to a 21-point frame.

Makenna Maier led the Golden Tornado with 15 points. Emma Monteleone added 14.

Butler will host Pine-Richland Thursday.
