Butler native Kelly Bucs' bench coach
PITTSBURGH — Butler native and Mt. Lebanon graduate Don Kelly has been hired as the Pittsburgh Pirates’ bench coach.
Kelly, 39, was first base coach of the Houston Astros last season. That was his first stint as a major league coach. He spent parts of nine years in the major leagues as a player and played for the Pirates in 2007.
Kelly, who played college baseball at Point Park, made his major league debut in that 2007 season.
