ALWAYS THE STAR — Santa Claus, aboard his sleigh, is riding the final float in the annual Spirit of Christmas parade in downtown Butler on Nov. 29, 1968.
COUNTY CHRISTMAS TREE — A construction crew prepares to erect the county's Christmas tree in Diamond Park, across from the courthouse, Dec. 6, 1985. The 25-foot tree was decorated by the Downtown Butler Renaissance Committee.
IN ST. MICHAEL'S PAGEANT - "Christmas Around the World" was the highlight of Christmas festivities at Butler Catholic Schools' St. Michael's Building, and three plays were performed by third year students. Among the participants in the three productions were: Jenifer Elder and Duane Gutherie, at left, who had speaking roles in The Greatest of These, a play staged by Rooms 103 and 105; Treloar Tredennick, standing, right, who had the title role in Baboushka and Three Kings, a Russian Christmas tale, by room 104; and Tina Fields, seated, right, who portrayed Befana in The Legend of the Befana, performed by Room 106.
