ADAMS TWP — Mars Area High School coach Blair Gerlach has been named the 2019 Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

Gerlach guided the Planet girls to the PIAA and WPIAL class 3A championships this season. His team was 22-0-1.

Since 2007, Gerlach has led Mars girls soccer to two state titles, five WPIAL titles and 13 section crowns. He is also a six-time Section Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Mars Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
