Arrest made in alleged screwdriver stabbing
BUTLER — Police have arrested a woman charged with stabbing a woman in the head with a screwdriver Tuesday afternoon.
Rachelle McMillan, 57, is charged with felony aggravated assault. She is being held in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond.
McMillan was arrested without incident Tuesday night by officers with the Butler City Police Department after investigators received numerous tips about her whereabouts.
“We were able to apprehend her due to the numerous tips we got, and she went without incident,” said Chief Bob O'Neill of the Butler police department, adding that the case remains under investigation.
According to O'Neill, McMillan was arrested at 111 S. Cliff St. around 8 p.m.
McMillan was charged as a result of the alleged attack, which occurred at a West Wayne Street home. Witnesses allegedly told investigators McMillan stabbed the victim between five and six times in the head with a screwdriver.
Around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Butler City Police were dispatched to the home on the 200 block of West Wayne Street, where they found the victim, a 52-year-old Butler woman, with blood on her face and head. The victim was transported by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
