Pa. on pace for bear harvest record
Pennsylvania is one-third of the way to setting a state record for black bear harvest.
Through the early archery season and two October firearms seasons, Pa. hunters have harvested 1,540 black bears. The record harvest for a year is 4,350 in 2011.
Pennsylvania still has a four-day firearms bear season beginning Nov. 23 and two extended bear seasons beginning Nov. 30.
