Boozel issues call to action
JACKSON TWP — County commissioner Kevin Boozel and the county Democratic Committee will host “United We Stand,” a meeting of regional county leaders, union heads and local candidates for office.
The event will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Steamfitters Technology Center on Wise Road.
The meeting will strengthen partnerships between labor leaders and local elected officials, and an action plan will be developed to support working families and ensure no one is left behind by a rapidly changing regional economy, according to a news release issued by Boozel.
“Unions are under attack, and it's time to fight back at the county level,” Boozel said.
Representatives from Southwestern Pennsylvania's largest unions as well as executives from eight counties are invited to participate in the roundtable discussion.
