POLICE REPORTS
2:29 a.m. Friday — An unidentified 23-year-old Bruin man in a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer was stopped by police in the area of New Castle Road in Butler Township for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Drug paraphernalia was observed. The man was found to be impaired by a controlled substance. Charges pending lab results.
8:11 a.m. Oct. 3 — One person was transported to a Butler hospital after a two-vehicle wreck at New Castle Road.
Richard Swidzinski was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado west on Route 422 and stopped in the westbound lane when a school bus activated its stop lights. A 16-year-old Butler female was driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler west behind Swidzinski, failed to stop and struck the vehicle in the rear. The Silverado traveled about 30 feet and came to a rest facing west in the west bound lane.
The 16-year-old, who was cited with following too closely, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital.
7:04 p.m. Oct. 2 — An unidentified 22-year-old Slippery Rock man was arrested for assault causing bodily injury with no weapon on Franklin Road in Slippery Rock Township. Police were dispatched to 717 Franklin Road for a report of a domestic situation. Upon investigation, the victim, a 39-year-old Slippery Rock man, had minor injuries to his face. The 22-year-old was arrested for simple assault and harassment and was transported to the Butler County Prison.
4:07 p.m. Sept. 27 — Malinda Bernardi, 44, of Butler, was arrested for criminal mischief under $1,000 for damaging a double pane glass window at Eastwood Drive in Summit Township. The incident occurred when Bernardi and the victim, John Cravener, got into a verbal argument. Cravener asked Bernardi to leave his residence. Cravener locked Bernardi out and would not let her back in. At that point in time, Bernardi struck Cravener’s front apartment glass window with an unknown object and shattered it. Before law enforcement arrived, Bernardi left the scene.
6 p.m. Sept. 22 — A 38-year-old Slippery Rock woman and 34-year-old Slippery Rock man reported burglary of a residence by force when someone broke the front window of the residence on Morning Glory Lane in Brady Township. The unknown person entered the residence, stole items and fled. The investigation is ongoing.
