Landon Mohney scored twice and had an assist to lead Butler to a 4-1 boys soccer win against Freeport on Saturday.

Evan Fetter and Remy Pardo both added a goal and an assist for the Golden Tornado (10-4) and Luke Shook contributed one assist.

Peyton Seibert and Noah Wolford shared the win in net.

For Freeport (9-5-2), Dan Lynch's goal was assisted by Hunter Hardin.

Goalkeeper Luke Heider stopped 13 of Butler's shots.

Slippery Rock 3, McDowell 2 — Ryan Davey scored the game-winner in double overtime to lift the Rockets on Friday.

Kurtis Baxa and Riley Lewis also scored for Slippery Rock (10-3, 7-0).

Karns City 11, St. Joseph's Academy 2 — Senior Nate Rondinelli scored seven times and Dakota King four times for the unbeaten Gremlins (13-0).

Kaden Scherer added three assists in the win.

St. Joseph's is located in Centre County.

Freeport defeated Valley 4-0, with Sidney Shemanski netting two goals for the Yellowjackets while Akina Boynton and Aleah Parison both added one. Knoch's girls finished second and the Knight boys fourth at the Grove City Invitational.Sammy Jo Barnes was fifth overall in the girls race with a time of 19 minutes, 3 seconds. Elyse Chess was 18th in 20:24.Braden Zukowski was 25th overall for the boys with a time of 17:21.Both Knoch teams are in action this weekend at the Rocky Grove Invitational.

Slippery Rock freshman Jacob Wolak shot a 77 Friday at the District 10 Individual Golf Tournament, leading the field into Saturday’s second round. He wound up with a 163 to place sixth overall in the event at the Meadville Country Club.Wolak will now compete in the western regional Tuesday at Tom’s Run Golf Course Tuesday in Blairsville.
