Butler Twp Police6:07 p.m. Wednesday — A 12-year-old boy was taken to Butler Hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a car on Hansen Avenue. Police reports say an orange Chevy Trax SUV driven by Tim Hemphill, 29, of Butler turned from Pillow Street onto Hansen Avenue near the Speedway and struck the boy, who was crossing Hansen Avenue. It was not known on Friday evening if Hemphill was charged in the incident.2 p.m. Thursday — Two Oil City men traveled to Butler to steal from Walmart, according to police. Brent A. Baker, 52, and Jaime Smalley, 42, both of Oil City, Venango County, were charged with multiple counts of retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft after the two worked together to steal a wireless router and manipulate the price of a tea kettle so it would ring up at $14.83 less than its actual price. The total of the stolen items was $83.88.5:45 a.m. Sept. 21 — Officers responding to a report of an intoxicated individual at Butler Hospital found Skyler Weichey, 18, of Butler sitting in a vehicle parked at the hospital. Police say they discovered a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Weichey was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
