Area festivals this weekend feature the following:

- Butler Fall Festival, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, newly moved to Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park

- McConnells Mill Heritage Festival, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the state park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.

- Penn's Colony Fest, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Route 228 near Saxonburg in Winfield Township.

CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry Artists Network will present two artists displaying work in the Back Hall and the Cranberry Township Showcase during the month of October.Marcy Bogdanich, Mars resident and treasurer for the Cranberry Artists Network, will display her humorous sculptures in the Showcase.Joan Stossel Pun will be exhibiting artwork in the Back Hall Gallery.The gallery area is at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.For more information, visit www.cranberryartistsnetwork.com.

PITTSBURGH — The most magical time of the year is just around the corner, and the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens' “Holiday Magic! Winter Flower Show and Light Garden” will open ticket sales at 11 a.m. Monday. Timed tickets are required for all guests.This year's show brings a Festival of Trees theme featuring a floating forest, topiary reindeer, tunnel of lights and 10 acres of illuminated outdoor gardens.The Winter Flower Show and Light Garden will run from Nov. 29 to Jan. 12. Hours for the show are 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. with the Winter Light Garden open from 5 to 11 p.m. daily. Phipps will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and remain closed all day on Dec. 25. The lunchtime concerts, hosted by the Butler County Symphony Association, will conclude for the summer with a performance by The Four Principals string quartet at noon Friday in the BCSO office, 259 S.
