SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University women’s soccer midfielder Rachel Edge and goalkeeper Emma Yoder have been named PSAC West Athlete of the Week and Defensive Athlete of the Week, respectively.

Edge had seven points on three assists and two goals last week in wins over Seton Hill and Mercyhurst. Yoder played 90 minutes against Seton Hill, 99 minutes against Mercyhurst and allowed two total goals.

On the men’s side, midfielder Abdallah Bangura was named PSAC West Athlete of the Week and goalkeeper Matt Hunsberger Defensive Player of the Week.

Bangura had two goals and an assist in a 4-0 win over the District of Columbia. Hunsberger had eight saves in getting the shutout.
