KC girls soccer topples Brookville
McKenna Martin scored a pair of unassisted goals and added an assist Saturday as the Karns City girls soccer team defeated Brookville, 6-1, at Diehl Stadium.
The Gremlins improved to 3-0 on the season.
Brooke Stahlman contributed a goal and assist, Emma Dailey a pair of goals and McKenna Lavella one tally.
Hannah Peterson scored on a penalty kick for Brookville.
Freeport 6, Apollo-Ridge 0 — Sidney Shemanski and Crystal Zembrzuski both scored two goals for the Yellowjackets (2-0). Shemanski added two assists as well.
Akina Boynton and Emma Check also scored for Freeport. Maddy Zarichnak had nine saves in getting the shutout.
Freeport travels to Valley Wednesday.
Slippery Rock 1, Fairview 0 — Kayla Daugherty scored the game's lone goal, assisted by Amanda Lewis, as the Rockets moved to 2-0.
Slippery Rock hosts Grove City at 6 p.m. Monday.

Zahmere Robinson scored on touchdown runs of 90, 36 and 14 yards Saturday in leading Washington to a 58-16 victory at Summit Academy.The win was the 700th in Washington football history. The Prexies (3-0) became the fourth WPIAL football program to reach that milestone, joining New Castle, Jeannette and Aliquippa.Zack Swartz threw for 142 yards and three touchdowns for Washington. Camer Washington-Curry completed six of 11 passes for 162 yards for Summit Academy (0-3).
