Falcon Knights gain shutout vs. Curwensville
Luke Bowser threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as Union/A-C Valley’s football team shut out Curwensville, 24-0.
Caden Rainey caught five passes for 94 yards and a touchdown while Tanner Merwin caught two passes for 39 yards and a score. Gaven Bowser led the Falcon Knight running game with 40 yards.
Rainey and Colton Hoffman had an interception each for Union/A-C Valley. Carter Terwint had nine tackles, Gaven Bowser and Hoffman eight each. Layton Stewart had seven stops.
The loss dropped the Golden Tide to 1-2 on the season.
The Falcon Knights (2-1) host Otto-Eldred next Friday.
Ridgway 42, Moniteau 7 — The Warriors were held to 166 yards of offense in this loss to the Elkers (2-1).
JD Dessicino scored Moniteau’s lone touchdown on one of his five carries for 22 yards. Nick Martino led the Warriors (0-3) with 38 rushing yards.
Quarterback David Stamm completed 6 of 16 pass attempts for 57 yards.
Ethan McDeavitt caught two passes for 36 yards. He totaled 10 tackles on defense while Martino made 14 stops.
Moniteau travels to rival Karns City next Friday.

Mia Sherman dropped 11 kills and five aces in A-C Valley’s 3-1 win over Redbank Valley Thursday night.
Andrea Meals tallied 19 digs, six blocks and six kills for the Falcons, who opened the season with the 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-17 victory.
Meah Ielase had 12 digs and 11 kills and Hannah Farrington 14 digs and six kills.
Slippery Rock 3, Karns City 1 — The Rockets won this Thursday match 25-21, 32-34, 25-19, 25-22. Mackenzie Dunn had six kills to lead the Gremlins.
Golf
Slippery Rock placed third out of 20 teams Thursday at the Corry North Hills Invitational. The Rockets carded a 342, eight strokes behind champion Harbor Creek.
Jacob Wolak and Walker Allison both shot 82 for Slippery Rock. Jack Hadley shot an 87, Logan Wolak a 91.
