July 18 — Rachel Allio, 38, of Slippery Rock was charged with stealing prescription painkillers from a couple's home on Bear Creek Road. The theft happened July 11.

Allio is accused of removing six oxycodone pills from the house. She admitted taking the pills to police, calling it “a stupid mistake,” according to court documents. She also said she flushed the medication down the toilet.

She is charged with six counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors.

July 20, 8:37 p.m. — An Allegheny County woman was arrested for being nearly two-and-a-half times the state's legal limit for alcohol in the parking lot at the Cranberry Cinemas on Route 19.Police found the defendant, Cari C. Hall, 47, of Natrona Heights, after receiving a call for two intoxicated women leaving the movie theater, according to court documents. The caller reported seeing the women get into a pickup truck.Hall failed field sobriety tests and was taken to UPMC Passavant for a blood test. Lab results showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.199 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Documents noted this was her second driving under the influence offense within five years.District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned her on charges of DUI. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

July 18 — Police charged a Mercer County man with being more than twice the state's legal limit for alcohol stemming from a traffic stop last month after he crossed the center line and fog line more than five items each on Route 8 north.Gregory A. Fischer Jr., 28, of Mercer was eventually pulled over with the help of Butler Township police. He denied having consumed alcohol but he showed impairment during field sobriety testing, according to court documents.Fischer was taken to the Butler police station for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.19 percent.He is charged with driving under the influence and disregarding traffic lanes.

Thursday, 10 a.m. — A car driven by Gary A. Smith, 70, of Renfrew drifted into the oncoming lane on Mahood Road just north of Byers Road in Clay Township and collided with a pickup truck. Dana R. Hartle, 28, of Butler was the other driver.No one was injured in the crash. Police cited Smith for driving on the wrong side of the road.Thursday, 6:21 a.m. — A sport utility vehicle driven by Dawnsha E. Heath, 25, of Ellwood City struck an embankment on Interstate 79 north in Worth Township. She was not injured but her vehicle had to be towed.Heath was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and disregarding traffic lanes.Wednesday, 4:26 p.m. — Nicolas E. Nelson, 19, of Mars lost control of his car in the passing lane on I-79 south in Jackson Township and slid sideways over an embankment. The teen was wearing a seat belt and was not hurtPolice cited Nelson for driving at an unsafe speed.July 12 — Police arrested Miranda G. Brady, 25, of Worth Township for DUI on Mercer Road in Center Township where police were running radar. She was traveling 71 mph in a 35 mph zone.Police said before they pulled over Brady, they also saw her sport utility vehicle cross the solid yellow line. She told the trooper that she had “one beer” earlier that evening, according to court documents.She indicated impairment during field sobriety testing and police took her for a breath test that found her blood-alcohol level was 0.096 percent.Brady is charged with DUI, speeding, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and a seat belt violation.
