Denny Road in Middlesex to be paved this year
MIDDLESEX TWP — Middlesex residents have been asking for more than three years: When will Denny Road be paved?
Supervisors announced at a July 17 meeting that the answer to that question is in sight.
Township Manager Travis Cavanaugh confirmed after Tuesday night’s planning commission meeting that work will be completed in 2019.
“It’s getting paved this year,” Cavanaugh said.
According to Cavanaugh, most of the road was paved in previous segments. The remaining portion toward Route 8 was contracted to Wiest Asphalt Paving & Products on April 3, when Wiest submitted a bid for $239,352.
The project’s timeline hasn’t been specified.
Cavanaugh said Wiest is waiting for the township to complete drainage and ditching work along Denny Road before paving can begin. Although lacking a concrete start date, township officials are adamant the road will be finished by the end of this year.
