ADAMS TWP — When Adams Township residents gathered Monday night to speak to supervisors about their ongoing concerns for new developments and stormwater management, one had a specific suggestion.

Citing recent newspaper articles, Cathy Roach said stormwater has been a perpetual problem this year for residents of Middlesex and Cranberry townships, as well as Adams.

“The other two townships have formed committees,” Roach said. “Oversight committees, advisory committees.”

Roach said these municipalities are using the groups to “scrutinize” the stormwater plans proposed by developers and oversee problems as they occur.

“Adams, with its growing situation ... might want to consider putting together some of these advisory committees,” Roach said.

She suggested such a committee would be able to answer questions “left unanswered before approvals.”

Supervisor Chairman Thomas Franceschina said the functions of the committees must be reviewed before a formal decision is made. He noted supervisors would look into the groups.

“And (we’ll) see,” Franceschina said.
