Corn field 'race' results in $700 in crop damages and charges
BUFFALO TWP — A township man is accused of causing $750 in crop damage after police say he drove his pickup truck through several cornfields of a farm on Harvey Road last month.
Darius M. Obringer, 20, is charged with a second-degree misdemeanor count of agricultural vandalism and a summary county of traveling on cultivated land.
A family friend of the victim told police he and a buddy heard two pickups “racing” through a field and woods on the evening of June 22. The pair rode out on all-terrain vehicles to confront the drivers, according to court documents.
