POLICE REPORTS
Wednesday — Mannon L. Rose, 30, was arrested after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during a domestic dispute at his home on College Street.
The victim told police that she and Rose were arguing about money when he punched her in the right eye, according to court documents. She suffered bleeding and swelling to the eye.
District Judge Wayne Seibel arraigned the defendant on a charge of simple assault. He was later released on $6,000 unsecured bail.
10:32 p.m. Tuesday — Jianwang Lu, 61, of Butler was arrested on charges he assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at her apartment on the 1200 block of East Jefferson Street.
Police said they spoke to the victim at Butler Memorial Hospital, where she was being treated for injuries in the alleged assault. She told officers that Lu struck her in the head and pulled her by the arm, according to court documents.
The woman suffered injuries that included a bump on the head and bruising and scratches on her upper left arm.
District Judge Wayne Seibel arraigned Lu on a charge of simple assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail following arraignment.
May 6 — Amanda Fennell, 38, of Butler was charged with DUI and drug offenses after she was found passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle.Police said around 2:19 p.m. officers found Fennell and her still-running vehicle parked in the parking lot of Edward's Ice Cream.She was then arrested and charged with DUI, possessing a controlled substance and paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.Tuesday — A rear-end collision caused a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Duffy Road near New Castle Road.Police said Destiny Flynn, 17, of Slippery Rock rear-ended Bruce McBride, 83, of Butler. McBride's vehicle was pushed into a vehicle driven by Angela DeAngelis, 20, of West Sunbury.Police said Flynn was distracted while driving and didn't see traffic stopped ahead.Flynn sustained a hand injury, but no one else was injured. The vehicles of Flynn and McBride were towed from the scene.Police cited Flynn with careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed and expired registration.Wednesday — A 16-year-old girl was cited for her involvement in an accident around 2:05 p.m. at the intersection of South Eberhart Road and Whitestown Road.The girl was driving a Chevrolet Impala west on Whitestown Road with one passenger, Daniel Wilhelm, 45, of Lyndora.With a solid green light, she made a left turn at the intersection of South Eberhart Road.An eastbound Suzuki SX4 driven by Mary Lou Richards, 63, of Slippery Rock struck the Impala. A 14-year-old Butler boy was a passenger in the SX4.No one was injured in the accident, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.The girl driving the Impala was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left-hand turn.
June 17 — Francis J. Curran Jr., 35, of Worthington was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Worthington.Curran was stopped around 4 p.m. May 11 at Pine Street and Slate Lick Road. Police said his blood-alcohol level was at least twice the state's 0.08 percent limit.In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with driving without a license, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.
June 9 — An unknown vandal damaged a mailbox on Mill Bridge Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Damage was estimated at $50.
