City fireworks display sparks with donations from local businesses, organizations
Seven businesses and organizations donated or pledged donations totaling $15,250 for Butler's Independence Day fireworks display.
NexTier Bank pledged $5,000, Pennsylvania American Water, Butler Downtown and Gateway Engineers pledged $2,500 each, Krill Recycling of Fenelton pledged $2,000, American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury pledged $500 and Cloud 9 Vapor pledged $250.
As of Friday, the city received the donations from Butler Downtown, Gateway Engineers and Cloud 9 Vapor.
Zambelli Fireworks of Warrendale will set off the fireworks from the Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park at dusk on July 4.
The city will spend $15,000 on the fireworks display and save the remaining $250 in donations for the next year's Independence Day fireworks display.
