Bercurys complete big Meadows week

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Horse owners Bill and Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock capped a big week at The Meadows by watching three of their horses win harness races.

After trotting mare Barn Girl won a Monday race and pacing mare Touchamatic won Tuesday, Carolina Beach won Saturday’s $20,000 Open Handicap in 1 minute, 49.1 seconds, matching the track record for older gelding pacers.

The Bercurys bought the 5-year-old Carolina Beach and had him shipped to The Meadows from Saratoga. The horse now has career earnings of $219,593.
