Flood warning issued for Moraine area
A flood warning for west central Butler County is in effect until 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The warning means flooding is occurring and could get worse.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh advises that at 11:32 a.m. Thursday gauges north of Portersville indicated Muddy Creek was flooding below Lake Arthur. Additional rain was expected Thursdayevening with an estimated accumulation of 1 inch.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Prospect, West Liberty, Portersville, Moraine State Park and Cooper's Lake Campground.
In addition to the warning, a flash flood watch for Butler County was set to expire at 8 p.m. Thursday.
