Saxonburg scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to squeeze past Cranberry Township, 3-1, in Butler County Area Baseball League play Tuesday evening.

Cranberry got the tying run on base in the bottom of the eighth thanks to singles from Evan Schneider and Tyler Draper, but Saxonburg reliever Lance Cotton allowed no damage.

Blaze Voltz pitched 7 1/3 innings and allowed just one run to earn the win.

Matt Lewis pitched well in defeat for Cranberry.

East Butler 6, Karns City 3 — Austin Rodgers doubled and pitched six innings for East Butler. Andrew Arbanas had a double and two RBI. Cody Schnur and Hunter Green both had doubles.

Zach Blair and Lucas Larimore had doubles for Karns City.
