Butler County is known for its scenic state parks, and now festival attendees will have the chance to see some of those places of interest.

The State Park Scenic Tour features three sites in Butler County. Participants will be guided along on scenic back roads. At each stop, they will be greeted by state park staff or North Country Trail Association representatives.

This activity is open for people of all ages and for all types of Jeeps. The tour does not require any off-roading, so there are no specific requirements for the Jeep.

“We wanted to expand the types of activities that we offer, so everyone has something to enjoy, said Patti Jo Lambert, festival director. “The State Park Scenic Tour is for those who don't want to get dirty, but would like to enjoy an activity with their Jeep.”

The three stops on the Scenic tour are:The Davis Hollow Cabin, which is located within Moraine State Park and dates to before the start of the American Revolution. A representative from the North Country Trail Association will give a tour of the cabin and talk about its history. The Jennings Environmental Education Center, which features a 20-acre prairie ecosystem, is home to distinctive prairie plants and the endangered Massasauga rattlesnake. Wil Taylor, the center manager at Jennings Environmental Education Center, will take participants on a short walk to the prairie and talk about its significance to the area. The Muddy Creek Oil Well is an award-winning restoration site of an antique oil well. Volunteers from Moraine, McConnells Mill and Jennings Commission (3MJC) will share a demonstration of the well and talk about the site's history.
