No Jeep? No problem. Lots to do at festival

You don’t have to own a Jeep to have fun at Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival.

You can drive or ride in a Jeep with experienced drivers.

Visit how-to clinics to learn how to customize and soup up a Jeep Wrangler, air down 4x4 tires and more.

Check out the Jeep history exhibit, which features the Faces of Jeep grille display. The exhibit educates about the different types of Jeeps over the years.

Visit the World War II encampment to step back in time. The encampment features a group dressed in uniform, recreating a military camp and their restored Jeeps.

There is also a fun military-style obstacle course for children. A new attraction this year is the military model display featuring artifacts from World War II veterans.

Don’t have a Jeep? Sit in the bleachers and watch Jeepers take on the Jeep Playground obstacle course.

The Best of Bantam/Decorate Your Jeep show is Saturday. Watch how creative Jeepers transform their vehicle in the Decorate Your Jeep contest.

In the same area, see the Best of Bantam competition, during which Jeeps in 16 different Jeep model classes compete.

There are also opportunities to ride along in a Jeep as well as test driving skills.

The Are You Driver Enough Challenge offers the chance to test drive a Jeep on the playground using BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires.

Festival attendees can also Drive with a Guide. This activity, offered by Diehl Automotive Group, provides the chance to test drive a Jeep off the road.

There are free activities to enjoy on Saturday night.

Watch thrill seekers ride down a slalom-style course in the Bantam Barbee Jeep Race at 5 p.m.

You can also enjoy live music by James Tobin and the Dewey Decimators starting at 6 p.m. Lastly, check out the Festival of Lights competition and display at 9 p.m.
