Four injured in 2-car collision
SLIPPERY ROCK — Two cars collided Friday evening east of Slippery Rock leaving four of the five people inside injured.
A man and his two passengers were traveling south on Route 8 when a Kia Forte pulling out from Branchton Road struck the side of the vehicle, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The driver and passenger of the Forte and the two passengers in the Forrester were taken to nearby hospitals with minor to moderate injuries, according to Fire Chief Ryan Hanchosky of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team.
“We did pop the door to get the one patient out,” Hanchosky said.
Firefighters blocked Route 8 traffic for about an hour while the scene was investigated and cleared of debris.
Troopers said the injuries did not appear life-threatening.
The accident did not involve any Slippery Rock High School graduates whose ceremony was also Friday night, Hanchosky said.
