Numerous Butler County teams will be involved in WPIAL playoff action early this week.

On Monday, Mars will meet Freeport at 6 p.m. at Fox Chapel in a Class 2A boys lacrosse semifinal. Freeport baseball plays Waynesburg in Class 3A at 6 p.m. in Latrobe while Knoch softball takes on Greensburg Salem in Class 4A softball at 3 p.m. at Hampton.

Three baseball games take place Tuesday. Butler plays North Allegheny in Class 6A at 4 p.m. at Fox Chapel, Seneca Valley faces Bethel Park in Class 6A at 4 p.m. at Boyce/Mayview Park and Mars plays West Allegheny in Class 5A at 6:30 p.m. at Burkett Field.

In 6A softball, Seneca Valley plays Hempfield Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.
