Theater groups set auditions
Two area theater groups are casting for their summer shows.
The Musical Theatre Guild will conduct auditions for its summer musical “Bingo! The Winning Musical” on Sunday and Monday at the MTG Production Center at the back of Memorial Park.
Those who wish to audition may do so at either 3 p.m. May 5 or 7 p.m. May 6.
Audition materials will be provided.
The show calls for six females and one male. The roles include a 20-something female, four 40- to 50-year-old females, one 60-something female, and one 40- to 50-year-old male.
The director will be Patrick Erkman with producer Barb Osche. The musical director will be Chase Upchurch, with choreographer Jade Bowers.
The show will be at 7:30 p.m. July 12, 13, 19 and 20 and at 3 p.m. July 21 at the production center.

The Hobnob Theatre Company will have auditions for its Shakespeare in the Park play “Romeo and Juliet” at 7 p.m. May 13 and 14 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 218 E. Jefferson St.
No prepared audition piece is needed.
A big cast is needed, with lots of roles available for men and women.
“Romeo and Juliet” will be performed under the direction of Ken Smith at Preston Park in Meridian on the weekends of July 12 to 14 and 19 to 21.
