Hobnob Theatre Company has confirmed that this year's Shakespeare in the Park will be presented on two weekends in July.
“Romeo and Juliet” is planned for July 12 to 14 and 19 to 21 at Preston Park, Butler Township.
For its 34th performance season, the Musicians' Concert Band has planned six concerts under the direction of Jeff Kroner.MCB concerts start at 7 p.m. some Thursdays and one Friday at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.The schedule is:“Musical Potpourri — A little of this, and a little of that,” June 13“Big Band Swing” with Kevin and Mary Gibbons Big Band, June 21“A Patriotic celebration,” June 27Concert featuring Jonathan Helmick, July 11“Music from the Movies and Broadway,” July 25TMG Swing Orchestra, Aug. 1The suggested donation for each concert is $5.
The April 28 “Smalltown in our Bloodstreams” concert by Butler native Shane Alexander was canceled due to illness. The Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts hopes to reschedule his concert in Foxburg in the future.The opening reception of the exhibit of photography by Butler-based Dennis Keyes and handmade coiled baskets by Linda Thompson at the Red Brick Gallery in Foxburg has been rescheduled to noon to 5 p.m. May 20. Singer/songwriter Tom Panei of Butler will be performing from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Just One Look: The Songs of Linda Ronstadt” stars Slippery Rock native Travis Moser.A cabaret, concert and recording artist, Moser makes his debut at 7 p.m. June 20 at the Green Room 42 in New York City with his brand new show.Songs include “Just One Look,” “Blue Bayou,” “I Don't Know Much,” “When Will I be Loved,” “Desperado” and others.
Several Johann Sebastian Bach “Brandenburg Concertos” will be performed Sunday during a free concert dedicating the William H. Scheide House in Titusville.Because Bach was the late Scheide's favorite composer, these 1721 works are being featured throughout a ceremony marking the start of the gradual conversion of the property into the Scheide Cultural Preservation Center. The festivities start at 2 p.m.A dozen musicians from the Erie Philharmonic will play these instrumental pieces.The house, constructed in 1866 and located at 221 N.
