BC3 softball scores sweep

Knoch graduate Sydney Natili was the winning pitcher in both games Thursday as Butler County Community College swept a doubleheader at Garrett (Md.), 17-0 and 10-2.

Natili struck out five in both games. She walked one batter all day and tossed a two-hitter in the first game. She also produced two singles and two RBI in both contests.

Amber Izzo had four singles and three RBI in both games for the Pioneers (8-0). Knoch graduate Abby Black had a triple and three RBI in the first game while fellow Knoch grad Casey Kretzer had a double, single and two RBI.

Black had two doubles and three RBI in the second game. Jesse Yenick produced a double and two RBI.

The Pioneers return to action Tuesday at Westmoreland.

Slippery Rock at Edinboro — The Rock (16-23, 6-8) dropped both ends of a doubleheader on the road, losing 10-9 in eight innings to the Fighting Scots (17-15, 8-6) in the first game, 5-0 in the nightcap.

SRU had a six-run lead in the sixth inning of the first game. Megan Brown had three singles and three stolen bases for The Rock.

Andrea Copelli and Chloe Sharman were the losing pitchers. SRU managed only three hits in the second game.

Baseball

Cranberry Township resident Jesse Clary had three hits and scored two runs Thursday to help Grove City post a 12-7 win over Saint Vincent.

The Wolverines (22-10, 12-4) have won four straight games and host Bethany Monday.
