SRU softball splits with Gannon
SLIPPERY ROCK — Leah Vith drew a bases-loaded walk in the fifth inning, plating the winning run as the Slippery Rock University softball team split a doubleheader with Gannon Thursday.
Vith’s walk capped a four-run inning that led SRU (13-20, 5-5) to a 7-6 win in Game 1 of the twinbill. Gannon won the second game, 6-1.
Maggie Moore had two hits and the game-tying single for The Rock in the first game. Camie Shumaker pitched five innings and got the win.
SRU hosts California (Pa.) for a twinbill Saturday.
