Butler County Historical Society presents the “Echoes from Our Past Historic Cemetery Walk,” featuring six actors portraying people from the area’s past, plus a yet-to-be-announced moment about Butler’s pride and joy — the Jeep — at 2 p.m. May 18 and 19 at the grounds of the North Side Cemetery. The tour will last about one hour and 45 minutes at the cemetery at 1002 N. Main St. Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for students ages 10 to 21 and for society members. Visit the society office at the Senator Walter Lowrie House, 123 W. Diamond St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., hosts a spring film series “Presenter’s Favorites” featuring the film “The Third Murder,” about a lawyer tasked with defending a client who faces the death penalty if found guilty, on April 25. Films begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free though donations are accepted and reservations are required for the films. Maridon hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Children’s Museum, Allegheny Square, will host opening weekend activities April 27 and 28 for Museum Lab, a new exhibit for children age 10 and older that includes Studio Lab, Make Lab and Tech Lab. Continuing are TapeScape 3.0, an art installation/play exhibit which is an indoor climbing, sliding, rolling landscape made of more than 50 miles of packing tape stretched over a two-story steel frame, through May 12 and “Rube Goldberg: The World of Hilarious Invention!” through May 5. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $16 for adults and $14 for children 2 to 18 and senior citizens. Call 412-322-5058.

Carnegie Science Center, North Side, will be the site of Buhl Planetarium’s inaugural “Floyd & Friends Laser Show Marathon” on April 20, featuring rock, reggae, and electronic music set to stellar laser choreography. Music by Bob Marley at 7 p.m. will be followed by Pink Floyd and others. Advanced tickets are encouraged. Call 412-237-3400 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The traveling “Da Vinci The Exhibition,” highlighting the achievements of Leonardo da Vinci, continues through Sept. 2. Fort Pitt Museum, Point State Park, will host author and historian Patrick Spero as part of its Fort Pitt Speaker Series at 11 a.m. Saturday. Spero will discuss how the West played a crucial role in the struggle for independence as explored in his book, “Frontier Rebels: The Fight for Independence in the American West, 1765-1776.” Registration for this program is $15 for adults and $10 for students at www.heinzhistorycenter.org/events.

Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., presents the exhibition “A Great Day for Hockey,” showcasing artifacts from all five Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup teams. Center hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, and $9 for children age 6 to 17. Military receive $2 off admission. Call 412-454-6000.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except closed Tuesdays, plus hours are extended until 8 p.m. most Thursdays. Admission is $19.95 for adults, $14.95 for senior citizens, and $11.95 for children.
