SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock High School senior Emma McDermott has been named District 10, Region 5 Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

McDermott averaged 12.6 points per game and sank 53 treys this season.

Joining her on the All-Region 5 first team are Rocket teammates Hallie Raabe and MaryAnn Ackerman. Both sophomores, Raabe averaged 11.3 and Ackerman 13.5 points per game.

Slippery Rock sophomore Ann Kadlubek, averaging 9.6 points per game, made second team.

Carlantonio gains Region 1 honors

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock High school freshman swimmer Natalie Carlantonio has been named first team District 10, Region 1 in two events.

Carlantonio made first team in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke.

5 Rocket wrestlers named all-region

SLIPPERY ROCK — Five Slippery Rock High School wrestlers have been named All-District 10, Region 1.

Juniors Nick Ayers (113 pounds) and Vito Pilosi (220), seniors Elijah Hilliard (170) and Kaleb Kamerer (182) made first team, senior heavyweight Sean Northcott second team.
