The Butler Valley Dawgs 14-under AA bantam hockey team closed out its season last weekend by winning the Buffalo River Outdoor Classic. Losing their first game 4-1 to the Charlotte (N.C.) Rush, the Dawgs defeated the Cheektowaga (Canada) Warriors 4-1, Milton (Ontario) Winterhawks 2-1 and tied the Union (N.J.) Thunder 2-2 to reach the title game. Butler Valley defeated Charlotte in a rematch, 2-1 in overtime. Goalie Cole Wanner was named tournament MVP. Other team members are Rohan Narasimhan, Cayden Bowers, Josh Kreeger, Coy Bianco, Declan Cygnarowicz, Jack Breisinger, Joey Pankowski, Aiden Waters, Joel Fabian, Cayuleb McCurry, Brayden Povlick, Logan Mansfield, Ian Edinger and Noah Long. Head coach Ropb Bowers was assisted by Dan Waters.
