CLARION — The Slippery Rock University softball team scored 36 runs in sweeping a doubleheader at Clarion Thursday, winning 23-6 in five innings and 13-2.

Maggie Moore had two hits and five RBI in the first game while Adeline Nicholson and Becca Roesch had two hits and three RBI. Kailey Myers had three RBI as well.

Camie Shumaker struck out seven in getting the win.

Myers and Aubrey Allen had two RBI each in the second game. Chloe Sharman pitched five innings to get her first win on the mound.

SRU (8-11) plays its home opoener Monday, hosting Lock Haven at 3 p.m.

Baseball

The Rock (6-5) plays a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gannon, then hosts the Golden Knights in a 1 p.m. twinbill Sunday at Critchfield Park.
