Maple Madness is planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23 at Succop Nature Park, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township.
The program features a pancake brunch and a naturalist-led walk through the history of maple sugaring, rain or shine.
The last seating is at 1 p.m.
The same program will also be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 614 Dorseyville Road in Fox Chapel.

[naviga:h3]‘Peter Pan’ this weekend[/naviga:h3]
“Peter Pan Jr.” will be staged by Batavia Studios at 7:30 p.m. Friday, at 1 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.
Tickets for the musical are $10.
A Tinkerbell Magical Dessert pre-party is planned for 5 to 6 p.m. before the Saturday evening show. A ticket for the party is $30 and includes one ticket for the show.

[naviga:h3]‘Branson on the Road’ coming[/naviga:h3]
Debbie Horton’s Branson on the Road is coming in April.
The show features costumes, comedy and classic country, bluegrass, rockabilly and gospel music.
In addition to Horton, performers include Adam Pope, Preston Walden and Lisa Horngren.
Horton holds the distinction of being the only woman to have played lead guitar for Johnny Cash. She hosted her own show at the Boxcar Willie Theater in Branson, Mo., and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry.
The show is planned for April 13 at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave., Lyndora. Doors open at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner buffet at 7 p.m. and music at 8 p.m.

[naviga:h3]Irish genealogy workshop set[/naviga:h3]
The fifth annual Irish Genealogy Workshop hosted by the Detre Library & Archives at the Senator John Heinz History Center will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Irish genealogy experts Fintan Mullan and Gillian Hunt from the Ulster Historical Foundation in Belfast, Ireland, will present an in-depth look at the genealogical sources found in Ireland, including church records, wills and testamentary records, newspapers, Penal Era records, and websites of Irish archives and libraries.
Participants can also connect with fellow attendees during an expanded networking session and attend a curator-led tour of the history center’s Irish American collection.
The center is at 1212 Smallman St., Pittsburgh. The workshop costs $40.

[naviga:h3]Civil War series planned[/naviga:h3]
The Lawrence County Historical Society has renewed its Civil War series for students for June 11 to 27.
The series will include re-enactors and interactive classes. In addition, the students and their guardians will travel to Gettysburg National Military Park on June 29 for a personal tour of the battlefield.
