[naviga:h3]3 county graduates earn PAC honors[/naviga:h3]

Moniteau graduate Lake Pry, Knoch graduate Celia Knappenberger and Seneca Valley graduate Paige Scherer are among this week’s Presidents’ Athletic Conference athletic honorees.

Pry, a Grove City College sophomore, has been named Pitcher of the Week in baseball. He struck out 13 and walked one in an eight-inning no-hitter against Penn State New Kensington.

Knappenberger, a freshman at Saint Vincent, was named Pitcher of the Week in softball. She went 3-0 with three complete games, striking out 18 and compiling a 1.33 earned run average.

Scherer, a senior midfielder at Thiel, was named Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. She tallied six goals and three assists in two games last week.

[naviga:h3]SRU’s Stanz named Pitcher of Week[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior Tanner Stanz has been named PSAC West Pitcher of the Week.

Stanz pitched eight scoreless innings in The Rock’s 2-1 victory against LIU Post last week.

[naviga:h3]SRU’s Cohen gains PSAC tennis honor[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior Lacey Cohen has been named PSAC West Athlete of the Week.

Cohen has totaled 15 overall victories — nine singles, six doubles — so far this season and won the PSAC Individual Singles Championship.
