BUFFALO CHARGE

Fenelton United Methodist Church, 810 Clearfield Road, will host a contemporary evening service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday including Craigsville and McKee Chapel United Methodist churches.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The prayer shawl group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, meets at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The Red Church offering at both Sunday services will benefit the church’s Super Sprouts preschool scholarship fund.

The men’s breakfast is 8 a.m. Monday at Kings Restaurant, 191 New Castle Road.

The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team meets at 4 p.m. Monday

The finance committee meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The men’s fellowship group meets at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Lenten study is 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. March 14.

The item for this week’s Lent-Easter children’s collection is socks. They will be accepted Sunday.

Check the flier in the narthex for the different items needed. Items are to be for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

The monthly food cupboard item is cereal.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will begin Wednesday morning Lenten prayer services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Winters Chapel. Pastor John Silbert will lead a half-hour service of prayers, Scripture, and hymns for the Lenten season, with Peggy McGuirk at the keyboard. The service will be each Wednesday in Lent.

The People for Peace study group will meet at 11 a.m. March 14 in the Assembly Room.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

East Butler Presbyterian Church, 9th and Randolph streets, East Butler, will welcome the gospel group Glory Way Quartet Sunday evening. A potluck meal will be shared in the social hall at 5 p.m., and the concert will follow in the sanctuary at 6 p.m.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St. Ext., has 9:30 a.m. Sunday school followed by a 10:30 a.m. worship service.

During the week, the AA group meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, WW meets at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. March 14 and 8:30 a.m. March 16.

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have 9:45 a.m. Sunday school and an 11 a.m. worship service followed by lunch and a 1 p.m. worship service.

Ladies Bible study is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dittmers.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., has Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. and a 10 a.m. worship service followed by doughnuts and fellowship in the Social Hall.

The church council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

There will be a staff meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The Wednesday Lenten worship service is 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, followed by a presentation by Jenna Rhodaberger on the topic of suicide. There will also be discussion and dessert.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., opens Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 5 to 7 p.m. March 14. No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag. Donations of only clothing are accepted at the church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the church or anytime Grace’s Closet is open. Call ahead to schedule drop-off of more than four bags of clothing.

Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Wednesday evening members and friends of Grace @ Calvary are invited to the BALM midweek Lenten gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church, Butler, for worship and discussion beginning at 7 p.m. This year’s theme for Lent is “vocation.” Dessert will be served during fellowship time.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets each Sunday morning for a 10 a.m. worship service at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Amber Crowe and Don Horstman will be providing the music at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The handbell choir will ring at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

The Lenten book study led by the Rev Leigh Benish will be at 9 a.m. Sundays in the fellowship hall beginning this week and running through April 14.

Reservations for the March 18 Senior Night Out dinner are due Wednesday.

Updated addresses for college students and military personnel are needed by March 24 for the deacons’ care package ministry.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The deacons of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., meet at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the board room.

Lenten lunches start at noon Friday. The Rev. James Steiner will be the speaker.

The deacon kindness collection will be taken during the regular collection Sunday.

The youths will have a tournament game night at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall. Games will be provided or take a favorite game. Light refreshments will be provided. All ages welcome.

The stewardship committee meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

MERIDIAN PRESBYTERIAN

Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will begin Faith & Fellowship evenings at 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent with dinner and classes for all ages to follow.

Family Lenten devotion books are available in the church library.

Desserts for Conno Meals on Wheels can be brought to the church March 17.

NEW ZION

New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 1195 Airport Road, Emlenton, will host a community service at 7 p.m. Sunday. It is part of a series of monthly evening services conducted by area churches. The Rev. Charles Cline of the Parker and Eau Claire Presbyterian churches will bring the message.

NORTH BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 North Butler Church Road, will celebrate Communion at the 11 a.m. Sunday service. A session meeting will follow the service.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will celebrate the Lord’s Supper during worship this week.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, welcomes the Rev. Dennis Hindman as guest pastor Sunday.

Communion will be offered at 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The council meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, will have an elders meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The quilting group meets at 6 p.m. Monday to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

There will be noon worship and Lenten soup lunch and study at noon Wednesday.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will share Communion at the 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship services

The outreach ministry will lead the 2 p.m. Sunday worship service at The Orchards at Saxonburg, 223 Pittsburgh St.

Church council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

There will be blood-pressure screenings after the 5:30 p.m. Saturday service and in between the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., has a soup and sandwich fundraiser after the Sunday worship service in the Fellowship Hall to benefit the youth and family ministries mission work weekend at the Pittsburgh Project in April.
