Shakespearean performance
Angelia Larson performs a monologue by Julia, a character in “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” for the annual Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest on Monday at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. PPT hosts the program for students in grades four to 12 to perform on the O’Reilly Theater stage while learning the works of William Shakespeare. More than 1,000 students competed in the preliminary rounds, which took place Feb. 4 to 15. Teams of judges evaluated each participant, and those with the highest scores progressed to the Showcase of Finalists Monday.
