Carved in Ice arrives

This year’s Butler Carved in Ice festival and chili cook-off is Saturday.

With hours from11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the ice sculptures will be displayed in Diamond Park opposite the Butler County Courthouse.

The festival is hosted by Butler AM Rotary.

Symphony hosts silent film

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will present “Safety Last,” a silent film with orchestra, at 7:30 p.m. March 2 at Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

The 1923 Harold Lloyd film charts the haphazard adventures of a country boy heading to the big city to seek success.

Glass society sets show, sale

The 42nd annual Show and Sale sponsored by the Three Rivers Depression Glass Era Society is planned for March in New Kensington.

Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 3 at the Quality Inn, 300 Tarentum Bridge Road.

The show will feature glass and pottery from 1880-1980 including early glass to depression, mid-century modern, and items from the ’50s and ’60s.
